Batch Heat Treatment Furnace

Batch Heat Treatment Furnace

Mannings gas, oil fired or electric heat treatment furnaces have been designed to give reliable and accurate service when used for both short and protracted heat treatment.

The graphic to the left shows a one tonne capacity furnace with side panel mounted operating controls. The roller hearth gives a light effortless withdrawal of hot load baskets from the furnace chamber, enhancing operator safety. The associated quench tank is electrically heated, fully insulated and fitted with a sliding lid to reduce heat loss. The furnace has been specifically designed for solution and precipitation heat treatment of aluminium alloy castings at temperatures of between 180oC and 560oC with a uniformity of + or - 5oC.

Features include:

  • High-speed re-circulation fan ensures temperature uniformity.
  • Low capital cost.
  • Easy maintenance.
  • Economical to operate

High Temperature Gas Fired Lift Off Cover Furnace

High Temperature Gas Fired Lift Off Cover Furnace

MANNINGS enjoy a high reputation in the furnace industry as a company able to design and manufacture a variety of furnaces, ovens and heat treatment equipment, plus the ability to provide well trained, reliable construction and commissioning personnel for supervision of installations worldwide.

Mannings have been providing a service to the heat treatment industry for more than forty years, steadily building a reputation for good design and reliability, which is now second to none. All Mannings furnaces are designed and manufactured by specialist engineers with many years experience. Resident quality control personnel critically inspect all aspects of manufacture. All furnaces are manufactured from best quality materials and whenever possible low thermal mass insulation linings are used, to ensure minimum heat loss. Fuel savings of up to 47% can be expected when compared with furnaces of a similar capacity using traditional firebrick linings.

Fully automatic furnace control systems normally included in the furnace package are designed to the same high standards to give accurate and close control over both short and extended time soak periods and set point temperatures of up to 1300oC.

Mannings furnace designs are realistically priced, easy to maintain, economical to operate and have short delivery time-scales.If you need more information about our furnaces, or you require assistance with any problem you may have in the field of thermal or environmental technology, your request will receive our engineer's attention within 24 hours.

Low Temperature Ovens

Low Temperature Ovens

MANNINGS silicone rubber curing ovens are electrically heated and fully automatic.

An integral forced air recirculation system ensures that the working temperature of 250oC is kept within a tolerance of +or-5oC within the curing chamber, regulated by a rear mounted thermostatically controlled high-speed fan.

A pre-heating recuperative exhaust stack maximises energy conservation and contributes to low operating costs.

In common with Mannings "operator safety" design policy, the ovens can be fitted with manual or self activating pressurised CO2 fire extinguishing systems, serving both the oven interior and the ductwork; the systems being designed to the standards required by BS.5306 Part 4.A further safety feature is the explosion panel built into the oven roof.

Mannings Furnace Self Build Plan

Mannings Furnace Self Build Plan

Interest in Mannings furnace 'Self-Build' Plan is steadily widening as more companies in more countries are appreciating the financial and practical advantages of purchasing design information, assembly and installation drawings from Mannings, together with all the necessary specialised instrumentation and components to carry out construction with labour and raw materials for structure, pipework, electrical wiring etc., thereby cutting cost to an absolute minimum.

Where only unskilled labour is available Mannings will provide the necessary skilled labour and supervision; commission the furnace and train local personnel.AlternativelyInstallations completed by the client which satisfy Mannings final inspection prior to commissioning will qualify for the full Mannings furnace warranty.

Mannings furnace refurbishing service could be a cost effective method of solving an immediate problem, whether it be by replacing obsolete instrumentation, relining old brick furnaces with lightweight low thermal mass insulation or discarding an existing fuel source and introducing an entirely new system.

Non-Ferrous Metal Melting Furnaces

Non-Ferrous Metal Melting Furnaces

A high quality 'bale out' type furnace with fully automatic instrumentation, giving complete melt cycle control that includes a pre-set timed start-up facility ensuring a correct metal casting temperature at the beginning of a working shift.A further feature is the controlled increase decrease temperature rate to conserve the life of the inner crucible. The furnace can be electric, gas or oil fired and it is fully insulated to maximise fuel economy and fast melting rates.

Recuperative burners for extra operational economy can be fitted to the gas fired models. There is also the optional bottom flow regulator, which can sometimes be fitted as an alternative to the standard 'bale out' system.Soundly constructed, with provision for a fume extraction hood, the furnace is designed to give a long working life.

Refurbishment Service

Refurbishment Service

In addition to designing and manufacturing our own furnaces, Mannings offer a comprehensive service to update and refurbish existing furnaces and ovens, which can be undertaken either on site or at our own workshops.

Salt Bath Furnace

Salt Bath Furnace

Mannings also manufacture a range of both gas and electrically heated salt bath furnaces, which are used for most metallurgical applications, post cleaning of contaminated componments using caustic salt.

These can be supplied as single "one off" units or a complete processing line which can be fully enclosed with all necessary fume extraction and mechanical handling facilities.

Specialised Combustion Systems

Mannings research and development engineers are constantly appraising combustion engineering enquiries that need additional design and development, or require a completely new approach; therefore only a small number of the more 'standard' furnaces and ovens have been selected to be included in this brochure.

Mannings R & D centre is of necessity all embracing and work is undertaken on electric resistance heating elements, control systems and gas and oil burners that may be required for special order. Any industrial process heating problem which cannot be satisfied by using standard equipment is studied by the centre.

Mannings expertise obtained from thirty years experience in the industrial heating industry can and will, solve your heating problems, large or small - quickly.
