The Odoursentry (S50) is a self contained free standing odour abatement unit designed for direct connection to blood and offal tanks in the meat processing industry. The principle of operation is to ensure that foul air is vented to atmosphere through the Odoursentry giving effective removal of offensive odours.
The unit is fabricated from stainless steel throughout and incorporates a condensate chamber with multi leaf baffle plate assembly and drain. The upper chamber, complete with membrane filter, contains activated carbon specifically selected to treat malodorous air from stored blood and offal. A media condition indicator is also included.
The unit measures 700mm x 700mm, stands 1060 mm high and can be located in any convenient position local to the storage tank. We do, however, recommend that it is sited at ground level, in the shade and that reasonable access can be gained for media change.
Installation of the Odoursentry is straightforward, connection between the unit and the blood storage tank or tanks is normally by rigid PVC duct fitted with an isolation valve and test point. The Odoursentry is supplied complete with 110 mm flanged stub and 14 mm ‘u’ trap condensate drain. It is recommended that flange joints be included in the design to facilitate inspection and any cleaning that may be required. Modification may also be required to the road tanker connections. Alternatively a simple flexible duct system can be utilized.
Under normal operating conditions the odour sentry requires little maintenance apart from periodic inspection. However, depending on the process and sensitivity of the location it may be prudent to have an inspection survey carried out by Mannings Environmental from time to time and the media tested.
