The MER 50 Can also be fitted with two remote monitoring units. The first is the CCTV system fitted to monitor the actions of the operator and the second will to assist in the monitoring of visual emissions from the stack of the incinerator. This will allow customers to monitor the incinerator disposing of waste via the internet or from a control room at a second location.
The second remote monitoring system is the aTAG system. Should the MER 50 require emissions monitoring, then this could be done remotely. aTAG can be attached directly to a carbon dioxide and oxygen monitor. The tag can then relay information directly to a PC up to 100 metres away. This allows the operators to monitor the MER 50 without having to be in constant attendance of the incinerator. The information relayed can be recorded by the PC to provide a record of the incinerators’ performance.
DIGITAL SCALES
Digital scales can also be used to ensure the weight of waste to incinerated at any one time is not exceeded as a result of overloading. A print out can be produced stating the date, time, and weight of each load. This can then in turn be matched to the CCTV video to prove each load has been disposed of in the correct manner.
By monitoring and recording the performance of the incinerator it is possible to provide positive reassurance to those individuals sceptical about incineration.
